Reading Olympics

Reading Olympics is a competition that takes place in a high school, but only kids from 4th to 8th grade can participate in. Our school takes part in Reading Olympics, and there are about 50 children in our school that are in Reading Olympics, (including me). We meet up just about every monday after-school to practice. Our practices are 1 hour long. At Reading Olympics, there are about 45 books that we can read. At the competition we sit in a circle and verse another team. The judge asks the teams questions and we can discuss for 20 seconds. The captain nominates who answers the question based on the previous discussion. The person then says the answer and the judge tellls them if they are correct or not. If they are incorrect the other team gets to chance to answer the question. There are 3 rounds with different teams at the competition. The most amount of points possible is 120 points. Since I am a 6th grader, I am a captain. I am looking forward to this year’s competition.
